Aster Kao received her Bachelor of Fin Arts from the Chinese University in Taiwan and made her home in the United States for several years where she received her Master of Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She has recently moved to Canada.

Although her career is drafting, computer graphic design, the painting she creates in her studio are not the work of mere photographic realism. The power and drama of Aster Kao's paintings defy the confines of the canvas, spilling out into imaged space miles beyond the perimeters of the area depicted. By putting her views into a close-up segment of an abstract setting, Aster not only insinuates an entire surrounding but she forces her viewers to experience the moment rich abundance of color enclosed in a simple form of presentation.
